I've been wanting to slap some custom plates on my cars, because, yes, my life is that devoid of meaning and I am a huge tool. Nevertheless, what can you guys come up with for the following two cars?
What we're going for here is funny/witty not cool/arrogant.
Alpine White 1987 BMW 325is Coupe
Speed Yellow 2000 Porsche 996 Carrera AeroCup
To get the ball rolling, here are some memorable plates:
Kim Schmitz's "GOD" New Zealand plated Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead
This funny guy:
This other funny guy:
I'm ashamed to admit I also kind of like the plates that are difficult to read. For example 00oo00o or BBB8B8B.
And Porsche plates generally talking about being a lawyer, not having any kids, it being a fast VW beetle, offending officers, or bragging about it's price or speed.
I live in British Columbia so the only criteria is 7 characters max. So far I have "LEMON" or "GT3000" for the Porsche and OO8H8OO" or "GLDNYRS"/"GLDNERA" for the Bimmer.
Surely OPPO can do better!

Since German:
BHNBRNR
'Bahn Burner
Autobahn + Barn Burner
Other ideas:
For the BMW - ISNICE
For the Porsche - EGGYOLK

All genius, specially the "ISNICE." Thanks!

For the BMW:
"KIDNEYS" because dat grille
"MCAR" because posing as an m-car is sure to get some panties in a twist
For the Porsche:
"HEIL" because German car
"BEETLE" because it's just a VW Bug with a body kit
"ORLOVE" because it's just a VW Bug.
I'm out of ideas. Bah.

"325IWIN" for the biemer
"GODSBUG" for the porsche

I know a guy with a FOREN6 plate.

I was going to suggest "KINJA," but I don't want you to crash.
Thank you, I'll see myself out.

lmnprty for the porsche...ok I'll see myself out

Porsche- YELLOWBIRD2
Bmw- Ov3rl0rd (from oversteer lord)

Actually, the character limit for vanity plates in B.C. is 6 characters , not 7. A 7th box is provided for a space, should you choose one. So, "OPPOLK" and "OPPO LK" are OK, but "OPPOLOK" isn't. Go figure.
Also, none of these will fly:

P.S. I was lucky enough to see this one in person while I lived in Calgary (not my pic):

Waaaaaaay too many characters. But I like your thinking.
Yellowbird and Ov3rlord would be in my top 3 for each car if I could make it work.

Clever!
![]() 02/27/2014 at 19:38 |

Turns out I'm only allowed 6 characters with one optional space. So "OPPO" will have to do.

hahaha, LEMONEY too, as suggested by davesaddiction up top!

Such an inside joke though.

I like LEMONEY for the Porsche, but unfortunately you just crashed that party, soooooooo.... OPPO for the Bimmer and YLWBRD for the Porsche?
![]() 02/27/2014 at 19:42 |
|
3...2....5... I WIN!
I love it. Too many characters unfortunately,... turns out I'm only allowed 6 + one optional space.
GODSBUG is creative, but unlike Kim Schmitz aka "Kimble," I'm apprehensive of putting GOD in my license plate.

All great ideas. But methinks HEIL would get me killed, KIDNEYS would look really weird, and BEETLE kind of doesn't do the Porsche justice; however true that may be. I'm liking YLWBRD for the Porsche and OPPO for the BMW.

So far I'm liking OPPO or ISNICE for the BMW and YLWBRD or LEMONEY for the Porsche. Thanks for the inspiration!

Oooops! Sorry, missed the 7 characters bit.
![]() 02/27/2014 at 19:51 |

It's actually 6, I found out. 6 + one optional space. They're very strict here in BC.

So much so I barely feel qualified to make it! :-)
![]() 02/27/2014 at 20:20 |

hahaha excellent! I dont feel so bad for suggesting it now
![]() 02/27/2014 at 21:15 |

ok, what about 325WIN for the BMW, and FSTBUG for the fast bug?

BMW: given its from the 80's and its white, some form of SNOW, Flake, flurry
911: PMY, tweet
![]() 02/28/2014 at 08:37 |
|
Sure thing! Always fun to try to come up with something good in just 7 characters.
Let us know what you end up getting.

I grew up in the 90's so all 80's references go over my head.
I like tweet.

I find that YLW BRD sounds more majestic than FST BUG. If we're talking animals... Plus Yellow Bird echoes back to the RUF 930 Turbo Yellowbird. :)
325WIN is not bad. May stick with "OPPO" since that'll transfer a bit easier to my next car. In a perfect world it would be an AMG 6.2 liter product.

I was trying to make a connection between the 80's love of cocaine and your white BMW.
As for the 911, PMY is P***** magnet yellow, and tweet is a homage to the Ruf yellowbird.
